The Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery has 3 meeting rooms and a multi-purpose balcony space for exhibitions and other events. The Owen Room is set out as a board room seating up to 15 people. The Walker Suite can seat 35 at tables. The Vaughan’s Mansion Suite is set out theatre style seating up to 50 and suitable for talks, training events and small weddings.
The new Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery occupies the old Music Hall: an extraordinary complex of buildings including a rare medieval stone mansion (the only one of its kind in this region). This exciting new venue for the town, houses a new museum and special exhibitions gallery, together with a cafe bar, shop and a new visitor information centre. This project has been funded by Shropshire Council with assistance from the European Regional Development Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council, the Walker Trust, The Art Fund and Friends of Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery.
