Weston Park, the stately home on the Shropshire \ Staffordshire border will host Motorfest, a new look to the former Transport Show, on Sunday 27th and Monday 28th March.
Organised by Gemini Events, and with a brand new look, this popular and hugely well attended fixture on the classic vehicle calendar will welcome classic cars, motorcycles, military 4 x 4’s, performance cars, classic commercials, tractors and stationary engines.
Over 50 local car clubs are likely to be attending and it is anticipated that there will be up to 1,000 vehicles on display. An interactive arena timetable throughout both days will feature vehicles from the 1940’s through to the 1980’s, American vehicles, classic tractors and fire engines.
Classic car owner, enthusiast and historian Brain Page will be commentating throughout the show, introducing exhibits and interviewing the owners.
Stephen Smith, Events Director for Gemini Events said: “We are very excited about our first show at Weston Park, we will be introducing new elements to the line-up whilst retaining the features of the show that visitors know and love. Bound to raise the more than a few cheers is the introduction of the ‘Decibel Duel’ where visitors will decide on what is the loudest vehicle at the show. Other new features for 2016 include ‘Pride of Ownership’ awards and a ‘Best Dressed Competition’ with vehicle owners dressing in period outfits to match their vehicles.”
Music will be provided by ‘The Glamophones’ who will perform close harmony songs from the 1940’s right through to modern day hits with their own vintage twist.
Hobsons Brewery will produce a commemorative ale for the show and there will be a brand new food court featuring Mexican street food, woodfired pizza, freshly made sandwiches plus many more for visitors to enjoy lunch or a snack on the go.
