Cycling Routes in Telford and beyond

Discover one of the UK’s most family friendly cycle destinations with 100’s of miles of cycling and its all FREE.

In Telford and Shropshire you will be spoilt for choice for cycling. From World Heritage Sites to medieval towns to Meres, Mosses, Hillsides, Canal sides to some of the best Sustrans National Cycle routes. One of the top favourites for Family Cycling is the Silkin Way, built along disused canal beds and historic railway lines, it makes for an awesome trail and its traffic free all the way. Park up in Coalport Car Park where you can access the Silkin Way in minutes and start your great day out. Cycle up from the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge through history and into the beauty and majesty of the 450 acre Telford Town Park.

Make a day of it with a stop off at Blists Hill Victorian Town or Telford Town Park. Enjoy family dining in Southwater or a picnic in the park. And if you are not bringing your own bike you can hire a bike from some of our great bike and leisure hire centres such as The Bike Hub in Telford Town Park or the Tandem Experience in Coalport.
