Telford is the place to be this summer!

Telford is the place to be this summer as its season of events gets under way next weekend.

The Carnival of Giants is returning next weekend where you’ll come face to face with dinosaurs and lots more GIANT creatures as they parade around Telford Town Park. There will be performances, sports activities, a mini fair, dressing up box, not forgetting the GIANT picnic chair!

Next up it’s T-Picnic on Saturday 3 September. Head down to the Telford Town Park QEII Fields In Trust Arena for the picnic of all picnics! From live bands, world food stalls and street theatre to art and craft workshops – there really is something for everyone. Not forgetting the light and pyrotechnic show finale which cannot be missed.

Telford Kite Festival is a brand new free event for 2016 taking place on Sunday 4 September. Kites of all different shapes, sizes and colours will be flying high in the arena. Watch kite flying displays, get involved in the build-a-kite workshops while getting tips and design ideas from special guests - the West Midlands Kite Fliers.

Join us at the World Heritage River Festival to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ironbridge Gorge being a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Saturday 17 September.  Entertainment and activities spread across the Gorge and a magical river procession finale by Walk the Plank – featuring illuminated boats, music, performers and pyrotechnics.
