Shrewsbury Winter Festival on the 10th & 11th December in Shrewsbury Quarry is bought to you by the Shropshire Festivals the team behind Shrewsbury Food Festival, Shropshire Kids Festival and Telfood.
The event which is under a HUGE marquee will bring together more than 170 food, drink and craft exhibitors selling their festive wares from the best local food producers to artisan crafts through to mulled wines and street food while local choirs will be getting us all in the festive mood with the best Christmas carols and a big singalong each day at 3pm. Elf Workshops will be making and creating with the kids for FREE and there will also be a huge big top with free circus workshops and shows to enjoy.
For kids who have always wanted to meet ‘real’ reindeer we have Rudolph and Dasher popping along for the 2 days and our very own Shropshire nativity scene will have Shropshire lambs, donkeys and even alpacas to meet. There will be also be seasonal workshops such as wreath making for the adults and kid’s cookery too. There’s also the Hobsons Ale Trail and the festive tasting trail to enjoy in the town meaning you can enjoy a festive treat or two while exploring the town.
Organisers haven’t forgotten about the true meaning of Christmas either teaming up with The Ark in Shrewsbury to raise money for those in need across the town. Donations and also a scheme in conjunction with Monks Estates Agents in town will raise awareness of those less fortunate through the winter months. Shrewsbury College will also be running a soup kitchen at the event, with the money from every bowl of delicious soup sold going straight back into Festival Charity, The Shrewsbury Ark.
